Very true. A few years ago, my doctor told me that my chronic cough was from acid reflux. She said acid reflux was probably caused by my high intake of ruby red grapefruit juice and gave me a prescription for Prilosec. Being wary of what I put into my body, I took the prescription to the pharmacy and asked for a printout of the drug to review...the side effects listed alone were enough to stop me from purchasing it. At that point, I decided that I would rather give up grapefruit juice than take a drug that had worse side effects...which in turn would probably end up causing me to take more prescriptions in order to "fix" the side effects....

Often being a geek, I am thought of in a similar category as this type of person. However, given a few moments of honest evaluation, this thype of person quickly shows just how much of a show off and an obnoxious jerk this person can really be. It only takes a few moments and a very little effort to be a true human and exibit real caring about the persons with whom you have in your company, no matter if they are friends or foes, co-workers or strangers, family or street urchins.

That fact remains that there is no limit to what one can learn by keeping ones mouth shut and ones ears, and eyes, wide open. For me, as a fellow geek, this has been one of the hardest lessons to learn, and one to constantly re-learn from time to time. Never-the-less, there is great solice from such literary works and references that constantly remind us that we complicate our lives to much, and just as this know-it-all becomes so obnoxious beliving to be unreplacable, we often forget the simplest knowledge is the quietest peace without that braggart spoiling the rest of the area.

Just stumbled onto your site when trying to track down Randy Wheeler at WIKY. Your post on getting things done caught my attention as I just started a new job and I have dual roles. I am having to prioritize tasks like never before and this article is very insightful! Thank you for sharing this JP and good luck with the CEO issues... It's hard to see the forest for the trees at times I'm sure!
Take care and thanks again,
Christina
